Messy Motherhood
With Adrianna Johnson
Not all stories begin with once upon a time.
Everyone’s journey into motherhood
looks very different. Although for most they seem to all have one thing in common
and that is they are messy, whether it was a suprise pregnancy or your life took an unexpected turn. It never seems to go as planned and what do us mothers do with these
thoughts and feelings?
Nothing.
And that is how Messy Motherhood was created.
My life flipped upside down

About Adrianna Johnson

Hi Mom’s!
My Name is Adrianna.
I am a mother to a crazy spiderman loving 3-year-old little boy as well as an angel baby that forever lives in my heart. I am 24 years old & married to my lovely husband who has a passion for cars. I have 3 dogs Star, King & Ruger. A cat named Leo & my sons beloved fish Bluey. I am an avid lover of all things outdoors (as most Minnesotan's are) as well as a book fanatic. Although most of my life revolves around navigating through the life of being a mom.
My Journey in creating Messy Motherhood
I decided to create this website as a means for mothers to share their stories as well as read about mine, a place to go when you need to take a moment just to remember you are not crazy & being a mom is hard. I want to create a safe place for moms to lay it all out there & seek advice (or just vent) when they need it. As this has become my safe place to share my stories weather anyone reads it or not. And I hope this place becomes that for you as well.
Work life after having a baby
Going to work after having a baby is a struggle in itself, lets talk about what you may not have expected to balance with the working mom life.
There were 3 things I did not expect when going back to work, I was absolutely blown away by the lack of quality daycares my area offers and the PRICE of these said daycares. Explain to me how I pay more for my son’s daycare than I do for my mortgage payment?!
Can we also talk about how hard it is to find an employer that is supportive as well as understanding when it comes to sick children, doctors appointments & understanding how hard it is to leave your baby everyday & leave them with people you hardly know despite the hours of research I did to ensure my son was is a good place, will never be enough to take away the mom guilt that comes with leaving your child.
Lastly how absolutely brutal it is to grasp the concept of the working mom life. night feedings, toddler who has a hard time staying asleep in their own bed, making a healthy dinner for your family with your child crying because they want dinner right when they walk through the door since you get off work at dinner time. Attempting to have a tidy home as well as a relationship with your husband & then returning to work every day & expected to be an asset to the company as if you are not exhausted from the night prior & it is a never ending cycle.
